RELAXATION

Our staff of certified professionals is trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques to aid body, mind, and spirit...

Massage offers a wide host of benefits, both physical and emotional, for your well being.

THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE

An integrated approach to soft tissue manipulation combining deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, passive movement, and energy balancing. Sessions focus on relaxation and easing of both physical and emotional tension.
NEUROMUSCULAR THERAPY

By definition, Neuromuscular Therapy is the utilization of static pressure on specific myofascial points to relieve pain. This technique manipulates the soft tissue of the body (muscles, tendons and connective tissue) to balance the central nervous system. In a healthy individual, nerves transmit impulses (which are responsible for every movement, function and thought) to the body very slowly. Injury, trauma, postural distortion or stress cause nerves to speed up their transmission, inhibiting equilibrium and making the body vulnerable to pain and dysfunction.

This treatment offers muscular pain relief that helps bring about balance between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. It can be highly beneficial for treating acute and chronic pain syndromes and for improving body function.

STRUCTURAL INTEGRATION

Unlike massage, Structural Integration focuses not on the muscles but on their protective layer, called fascia (also known as connective tissue). Muscles are contracting tissues that give the body and organs physical movement. The fascia surrounds the muscles, bones and organs in the body. The fascia gives muscles their shape and the body its structure.
Structural Integration aligns and balances the body by lengthening and repositioning the fascia. As fascia is lengthened it allows the muscles to move more efficiently. The practitioner will apply pressure to the body, working the entire fascial system in a systematic way. When restricted fascia is released and lengthened the body can return to its structurally optimal position

Structural integration aligns and balances the body so that it can move with greater ease. The body becomes more flexible, more coordinated and athletic performance improves. Good posture is effort-less and breathing is easier. The body becomes more flexible and coordinated.

HOT STONE MASSAGE

Hot Stone Massage involves the application of water-heated basalt stones of varying sizes to key points on the body, giving a deep massage and creating sensations of comfort and warmth. These treatment dates back 5000 years to the Indian and Mayan cultures. These therapists used "tools" provided from the earth to better heal and calm; their hands were only used for manipulation and some healing. These rocks come from river beds and were warmed on hot coals. The therapist would place these stones along the energy centers of the body, causing healing to occur. These stones seem to connect with the flow of energy to rebalance the physical body, emotional mind and spirit as one.

The direct heat relaxes muscles, allowing manipulation of a greater intensity than with regular massage. Hot stones expand blood vessels, which push blood and waste through the nervous system. This gives the body a sedative effect. Hot stone Massage is a deep, healing massage technique to enhance our awareness and bring us close to our true essence. Experience the healing warmth of our hot stone therapy.
